$4.2M in funding to upgrade city’s wastewater system

Rural Development Area Director Faye Rodgers Thursday joined Fayetteville Mayor Gwen Shelton and other local leaders to announce an investment of $4,205,000 to upgrade Fayetteville Public Utilities’ wastewater treatment system and extend service to additional homes and businesses.
The check presentation took place during a ceremony held at the Fayetteville Public Utilities office.
"Reliable, safe wastewater treatment is essential for good public health and for the economic health of every community, rural or urban," said Rodgers. "Thanks to the strong support of our congressional delegation, Rural Development has the financial resources to partner with Mayor.....
